Adventures in Kids’ Layouts

A Layout with my kids

Like most model train dad’s, I needed a layout to distract my girls when I was spending time on my various projects. I dreamed up a compact layout with just a single switch. It’s only operates with small 2-axle locomotives and has enough interest to keep them going for an hour or so. Phew!

There are features on it they contributed to: ‘Milly Molly Mandy’, Postman Pat, Riding Stable, Sheep, Bridge, Tunnel, station, bus, etc.

It’s built on a piece of beaded polystyrene and faced with foam board and terraformed with papier mache to keep it light.
